About

Who are we? Well, we are a diverse bunch (yet a precious bunch) having one thing in common: we remember that not so long ago we were without Christ, doing our own thing, going our own way, living a life estranged from God and His promises. But at some point in each of our lives, God tapped us on the shoulder and spoke into our hearts, declaring His Son Jesus. And we finally saw that we had it all wrong, we had Him all wrong! Somehow we had seen this wonderful heavenly Father as one trying to keep us from enjoying life, when in fact it was life He had promised to give! We thought we knew what was best. But on that particular day, He unfolded to us the truth: the very things we had sort after to fill us, had only added to our emptiness, the things we had ascribed as really living, had turned out to be as death. And hear-in we came to see, that as Jesus had so plainly said – He had come “that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly”, and if only we would step aside in our heart and let Him come in, and follow Him, we would really live! So for each of us in our own special way and time, we stepped aside and let Jesus come in and be to us who He is – God. Essentially that is what we all are here at Shellharbour Christian Fellowship, those who have stepped aside, who were willing to acknowledge we were wrong and abiding in sin. But now by the GRACE OF GOD we are learning day-by-day to listen for and follow Jesus. That is what a Christian is. That is who we are. Wonderfully summed up in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live; [and yet] no longer I, but Christ liveth in me” (RV)
